Pastoral Ministry
The Pastoral Ministry endeavors to meet the needs of God’s people in a comprehensive and effective manner. We care about the spiritual and emotional development of our congregation, community, and you as an individual.
We offer the following services to our members:
Personal Ministry
Personal awareness and discovery into areas that hinder you from being all that God wants you to be. We are here to minister to you personally in to bring emotional healing so that you will be able to live the Christian life free of the past hurts and issues that held you down.
Pre-Marital Training Classes
Couples desiring to be married at Christ Centered Church International are required to complete a series of pre-marital classes. Engaged couples are given insight into what a covenant marriage consists of, and what fundamentals are required for a successful union.
Weddings
The joining of a man and woman in holy matrimony. The sacred relationship of marriage was established by God in creation, our Lord Jesus adorned marriage by His presence at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. The apostle Paul chose marriage to symbolize the union between Christ and His church, and the Holy Scripture commends marriage to be honored among all people.
Water Baptism
Baptism is the public announcement of a personal experience. It is a Christian act of obedience and a public testimony of a believer's willingness to identify with and follow Christ. Jesus gave us his example and his command to teach us about baptism. John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the Jordan River, leaving us an example to do the same as a public statement of our faith. Likewise, Jesus commanded his disciples to baptize other believers (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is a picture of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. It is an outward picture of a person's inward change. The believer leaves behind the old way of life in exchange for new life in Christ. Baptism is a symbol of salvation-not a requirement for eternal life. However, as an act of obedience, it also is not optional for Christians. Baptism indicates our willingness to tell our church and the world that we are committed to the person of Christ and His teachings.
Baby Dedications
Children are a gift from God. Psalm 127:3 proclaims that, “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.” As believers we are called to recognize that children belong first and foremost to God. God in his goodness gives children as gifts to parents. They not only have the awesome responsibility of caring for this gift, but also the wonderful privilege of enjoying the gift. Because children belong to God and are given by grace as gifts to parents, it is only proper and appropriate that children be dedicated back to God. We are told in 1 Samuel 1 that Hannah presented her son Samuel to the Lord. In Luke 2:22 we read that Mary and Joseph brought their baby Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem in order to present him before the Lord. In the same way, Parents today bring their children, presenting first themselves and then their children before the Lord our God.
Visitation and Bereavement Ministry
Compassionate servant leaders offer care to sick and bereaved members through visitations, and phone calls.
